Former biathlon representative Veronika Vítková is a mother. The two-time Olympic medalist announced on Facebook today that her daughter Eliška was born on Saturday.
“November 21, 2020. A date that changed our lives with @maralejsek. Our daughter Eliška was born. She was in a hurry to get into the world, because she wanted to catch the start of the new biathlon season and cheer with us together,” Vítková wrote in a photo with her daughter and partner Marek Lejsk, biathlon coach.
Thirty-one-year-old Vítková announced her pregnancy and the end of her career in April. She left the world biathlon scene after 15 years, during which, in addition to two Olympic medals, she won gold and bronze at the World Championships and won one individual World Cup race.
Vítková symbolically informed about the birth of her daughter the day before the start of the new biathlon season.
