The ban on Christmas gatherings did not prevent Quebeckers from flying to sun destinations this winter.

Traveling during the pandemic, however, had been strongly discouraged and criticized by doctors, who believe that leaving the country in these uncertain times is irresponsible behavior and a flagrant lack of solidarity.
Josée Kaigle is not of this opinion, however, she who has gone on three all-inclusive trips in recent months. Travel agent with Optimists, Ms. Kaigle says travel outside the country is very safe.
“Since March, things have changed so much and the way of traveling has changed so much,” she explained Thursday on the Denis Lévesque show.
Ms. Kaigle adds that travelers do not represent a risk for the rest of the Quebec population.
“You have to understand that people come back with a mandatory quarantine. There are overly strict on-site measures that are more controllable than parties in underground houses. ”
While some see travelers as an additional problem during this pandemic, the travel agent believes that travel remains a solution for many people.
“There are some for whom to travel, it may be a little valve. There are people who are on the verge of reaching their maximum tolerance level. They are at their ends. ”
“I think that the fact of going on a trip, respecting absolutely all the hygiene instructions, and I insist, it is not more dangerous than anything else”, she mentioned.
The arrival of the vaccine in the coming months risks making travel more accessible for Quebecers. However, some airlines may require proof of vaccination before entering the plane.
“We had our health record before to go to certain countries. If that’s what it takes to make travel 100% safe, I completely agree, ”said Josée Kaigle.
