Shawn Mendes has canceled the rest of his tour through the United States and Europe, with which he would also perform in the Netherlands. The Canadian singer writes on Instagram on Wednesday that he does not feel ready for the heavy touring. He must put his health first, he writes.

After talks with his team and health professionals, he has had to decide that he will no longer complete the tour, he says. The singer says he needs time for himself that he has never taken before.

“We were hoping I could do the rest of the tour after a well-deserved break. But right now I have to put my health first.”

Mendes says that the tour’s stop doesn’t mean his fans won’t hear from him again. “It doesn’t mean I won’t be making new music and I can’t wait to see you again in the future.” He promises to return to the podium as soon as he has taken enough time to recover.

Mendes would be with on July 15 and 16, 2023 Wonder Tour performing in Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam.
