Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello announced that their relationship was over. Even though they have broken up, Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes say they will continue their relationship as friends.
The news of the separation of Cabello and Mendes was announced directly by the two stars via Instagram Story uploads, Thursday (18/11). Both posted the same post.
“Hello everyone, we have decided to end our romantic relationship. But our love for each other as humans will be stronger than ever,” wrote Cabello and Mendes.
“We started our relationship as friends and will continue to be friends. We really appreciate your support from start to finish. Camila and Shawn,” they continued.
Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello are known to have an affair in July 2019. They first got together in a collaboration titled I Know What You Did Last Summer in 2015 and continued with Senorita in 2018.
Shawn Mendes’ own father has called Camila Cabello his son-in-law even though his son has not officially proposed to the singer. Mendes made the statement on The Zach Song Show, which was reported by Ace Showbiz.
“My dad was never too serious about things, but he would always pester me and say, ‘How is my daughter-in-law doing?'” Mendes said with a smile.
Not only in The Zach Song Show, Mendes also opened up about his relationship with Cabello in the documentary In Wonder. He confessed that every song he wrote was about Cabello.
“My songs come on the radio or something and I say ‘everything about you. That’s all, it’s always about you,'” Mendes said at the end of the documentary trailer that aired on Netflix.
“Day [Camila Cabello] say, what do you mean? I reply, it’s all about you. All the songs I’ve ever written,” he continued.
In addition, the 23-year-old musician admitted that he had discussed his engagement with Cabello.
