Fuerth – Shock for Bavarian companies! The number of company bankruptcies has risen rapidly since the beginning of the year.
From January to March, 577 companies filed for bankruptcy. That is 16.3 percent more than in the previous year. In retail, the situation is particularly dramatic. There, compared to the previous year, 36.5 percent more companies are insolvent. RUM!
increase was to be expected
In the Corona wave, the feared waves of bankruptcies did not materialize because of the state aid. BUT: For 2023, insolvency experts expect significantly more company bankruptcies.
A spokesman from the Bavarian State Office for Statistics on BILD. “Due to the reduced obligation to file for insolvency in the wake of the corona pandemic, the number of corporate insolvencies is now simply moving towards a higher level again. However, this was already achieved before the corona pandemic in the sense of a normal level.
It goes on to say: “Economics specialist articles confirm that this increase was to be expected and is in itself important for a sustainable corporate landscape in a competitive environment.”
The good news: Despite the rapid increase, the level of insolvencies remains low in a long-term comparison.
