Until by 7 percent the rate of Dutch contracts per megawatt hour of natural gas falls on the ICE exchange on Monday. During the day, the price even broke down the level of EUR 36, reaching the lowest point of the day to 35,915 euro (PLN 155.75).
ICE charts show that if the price holds until the end of the day, then would be the lowest closing price in almost two years, specifically from December 31, 2021. Let us just remind you that exactly a year ago you had to pay almost EUR 140 per MWh for gas, and at the beginning of November this year. — over 50 euros.
The drop in prices is good news for Poles who use gas for cooking and heating, but also for the Polish economy in general, which mainly imports gas.

However, these declines are not yet visible in the prices on the Polish Power Exchange, where the price set for the next day increased by 1.9%. up to PLN 184.40 per MWh. However, the reaction to what is happening on the European market will probably take place on Tuesday.
Gas consumed in Poland for the 12 months ending in September amounted to 196 TWh, and 85 percent came from import – according to Eurostat data.
Problems with its high prices include, among others: fertilizer producers. Grupa Azoty in the 12 months ending September this year. lost as much as PLN 2.8 billion net not only due to the drop in fertilizer prices, but also due to still high gas prices. Of this, Puławy lost PLN 1.2 billion and Police PLN 482 million.
