Sharon Stone Invites To Wear A Mask After Her Brother Is Infected With Covid-19

KOMPAS.com – American actress and film producer Sharon Stone reminded the importance of wearing masks because the transmission of Covid-19 is still high in the United States.

Through his Instagram account, @sharonstone, he uploaded a photo of the hospital room where his brother was being treated and invited people who are reluctant to wear masks to care more about the threat of Covid-19.

He shared the upload after his sister had an immune disorder and was infected with Covid-19, last Sunday (16/8/2020).

“My sister Kelly, who has lupus, now has Covid-19. This is her hospital room. One of you who didn’t wear a mask caused this,” Stone wrote in his upload.

Lupus, an autoimmune disease that causes inflammation and pain throughout the body, is one of the diseases that aggravates Covid-19 infection.

Stone’s post shows a hospital room equipped with a bed, a large tube connected to an air filter, and medical personnel standing in full protective gear.

“He doesn’t have an immune system. The only place he goes to is a pharmacy. There are no tests in his area unless we show symptoms, and then wait five days for the test results.”

“Can you face this room alone? Wear a mask! For yourself and others. Please,” Stone wrote.

In a subsequent post, Stone said her sister’s husband, Bruce, was also in the Covid-19 ward and “fighting for his life”.

Stone said the two stayed at home for a long time because their native Montana, USA only allows people who show symptoms to be tested.

He said that his mother, who had two heart attacks, could not undergo the Covid-19 test even though she had recently been in contact with the sister and her husband.

“He could be the asymptomatic contact that gave them Covid-19,” Stone said.

“The nurses in the hospital who treated them could not be tested because they did not have the test results. The nurses risked their lives and could not be tested.”
