Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne have fallen prey to credit card fraudsters, the musician’s wife reports Wednesday in the program she presented. The Talk.
Sharon Osbourne discovered the fraud when she wanted to pay for a gift for their daughter Kelly’s 36th birthday in a store.
“It was strange that my card was declined, so I asked the shop lady to try again,” said Sharon Osbourne. “When that didn’t work, I gave Ozzy’s card, but it wasn’t accepted either. That was when alarm bells went off.”
After a phone call to the credit card company, it turned out that several purchases had been made at stores where the Osbournes have never been. Their credit cards were found to have been used by the fraudsters up to the limit set by them.
According to the musician’s wife, “This is not about a few hundred dollars, but a lot of money.” She did not say whether the credit card company will compensate them for the damage.
