Bob Boners, the head coach of the National Hockey League (NHL) team in San Jose “Sharks”, has revealed the approximate time of the return of the Latvian striker Rūdolfs Balcers. “I think he wants to prepare for another day or two until he is ready to go on the field. My guess is that he will play on Thursday [pēc Latvijas laika piektdien], ”Unit inspector Kertis Pašelka quotes Boner.
The next game “Sharks” will be played in Latvian time on January 12 at 5:30 on his pitch against the Detroit Red Wings. According to Boner, it can be understood that Balcers will not play in this game yet, but his return can be expected in the duel on January 14 at 5:30 at home against the New York Rangers.
Balcers had previously suffered a lower body injury, playing his last game on December 3 directly against the Rangers. Thus, in 2022, the Liepaja player has not yet played NHL matches. Balcers have played 24 games this season, scoring two goals and returning eight assists.
