Kölner Haie can announce another early contract extension. The KEC has extended the contract with defender Brady Austin for the long term.
“Brady is a fixture with his presence and calmness
and in our defence,” says Haie head coach Uwe Krupp of the Canadian defender. “He has the quality to set the tone both in defense and attack and plays important minutes for us. Furthermore, he has an impeccable character, fits perfectly with Kölner Haie and is a role model for our young defenders. I am delighted that he will remain part of our team ”.Brady Austin has been playing for the Sharks since the current season. In 35 matches for the KEC, the gro
mature defensemen scored five goals and provided ten assists. Additionally, the 29-year-old has a plus-minus balance of +9. Austin has averaged over 21 minutes of ice time per game for the second most minutes of any Haie defenseman this season. The Defender is therefore a solid support in the shark game.Prior to Cologne, Austin played in Europe for Tappara, with whom he won the Finnish championship last season, Nizhny Novogorod (KHL), Kladno (Czech Republic) and Esbjerg (Denmark). In North America, the left-handed shooter made five NHL appearances for the Buffalo Sabers and played 277 AHL games for Rochester, Cleveland and Stockton.
