Shark Bruce from ‘Jaws’ can finally retire

<!–

–>
Bruce, the predatory fish that caused turmoil in the classic creature feature Jaws, goes to his final resting place. 45 years is therefore a retirement age for a shark.

Of course this is not a real shark, but the last model for which the original mold was used. At the time, four versions were made, of which only one exists.

Dump
This particular copy was developed for Universal Studios Hollywood, where visitors could have their picture taken with it. It stayed there until 1990, after which it disappeared from view. In 2016 it was found in a rubbish dump in California.

The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles was eager to add this classic to its collection. They hope to open their doors in April 2021 and Bruce could be a great crowd puller.

Seven and a half meters
To get Bruce in, some windows had to be removed. The object is more than seven and a half meters long.

In the video below you can see how Bruce was installed.
