Sharjah Sports Council Organizes Successful Al Zahia Indoor Run in City Center Al Zahia

SHARJAH, 10th July, 2020 (WAM) — Yesterday, the Sharjah Sports Council organized the fourth edition of the Al Zahia Indoor Run in “City Center Al Zahia” in Sharjah, with the participation of 300 contestants of both sexes, as part of the council’s keenness to spread the culture of sports in the smiling emirate and urge them to practice sports as a way of life and beneficial to health. Public by all standards for different age groups, and the continuation of holding the event internally and investing the activity period in the summer.

The event was witnessed and the winners were crowned by Ahmed Al-Salman, Head of the Community Initiatives and Events Department, Khaled Mohamed Ahmed, Head of Event Planning and Implementation Division at the Sports and Community Events Department, and Badria Mohamed, Marketing Manager at Al Zahia City Center.

The results of the races were as follows: Mohammed Ahmed Al-Naqbi won the 8 km race for the citizens category, followed by Jassim Saeed in the second place, and Omar Al-Hantoubi in the third place. In the same distance for the men’s open category, Anwar Al-Ghouz won the first place, Valery Pimenov came in the second place, and Signol Abdeen in the The third place, and for women, Lydia Stalin won the first place, Fidelia Masango in the second place, and Lyudmila Plizniuk in the third place.

And in the 4 km race for the citizens category, Ahmed Al-Budour won the first place and Maid Ahmed won the second place. And Hamad Al-Suraidi won the third place, and for the women’s category, Asmitha Ganesh won the first place, Noha Al-Sousi won the second place, and Eman Rahmani won the third place.

In the 800-meter category for boys, Hamid Al Hammadi won the first place, Imran Hassan won the second place, Abdullah Al Yahyai won the third place, and for girls, Shamsa Ahmed won the first place, Kennedy Smith won the second place, and Shaima Adnan won the third place.

The event achieved its desired goal with the number of participants, interaction and great enthusiasm, which reflects the Council’s keenness to prepare all success factors in addition to supporting plans to spread the culture of sport and encourage it to have a daily space among the various segments of society in the Emirate.
