Sharjah Police General Command participates in international conference on Applied Research in Humanities and Social Sciences

Sharjah, 31 October / WAM / The Sharjah Police General Command participated in the work of the first international conference, “Applied Research in the Humanities and Social Sciences: Multidisciplinary Global Practices,” which was launched today at the Research Institute for the Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Sharjah, in the presence of Dr. Hamid Majoul Al Nuaimi, Director of the University of Sharjah and Chairman of the Committee. The conference was attended by Dr. Muammar Battayeb, Vice Chancellor of the University for Scientific Research and Postgraduate Studies, and Brigadier Dr. Muhammad Khamis Al Othmani, Director General of the Sharjah Police Science Academy, along with a number of senior officers of the Sharjah Police General Command.

Sharjah Police participated in two discussion sessions and two workshops. The first session was “Sharjah Police Applications in Crime Prevention” and included working papers: “Operations Room Applications in Crime Prevention” presented by Brigadier Dr. Ahmed Al-Naour, Director General of Central Operations, and “The Role of Criminal Networks in Promoting drugs through social media” presented by Colonel Majid Al Assam, Director of the Anti-Narcotics Department at Sharjah Police.
The second session was “The Role of the Sharjah Police Academy’s Programs in Achieving Social Security,” including a number of working papers, including “The Academy’s Role in Promoting Community Security through its Accredited Academic Programs,” presented by Brigadier Dr. Muhammad Al-Othmani, in addition to a workshop entitled “Applied Police Research and its Role.” In reducing crime,” presented by Colonel Abdullah Mohammed Al Maleh from the Sharjah Police Research Center, and a workshop, “There is a drug user in our house, how to spot drug users,” presented by Colonel Abdullah Abdulaziz and Colonel Abdullah Rashid Allay.

The participation was accompanied by an exhibition of the Sharjah Police interactive platform, “Be Aware,” which aims to enhance the security culture and educate community members about the dangers of exploiting social media channels to promote drugs.
