SHARJAH, 30th August, 2020 (WAM) — The Sharjah Government Media Office announced a distinguished international partnership with the Behavioral Insights Team (BIT), a leading global body that provides an innovative approach to the application of behavioral sciences in policy and government contexts.
For the first time, the team will participate in the activities of the 12th session of the International Government Communication Forum, to be held at the Sharjah Expo Center under the slogan “Today’s Resources… Tomorrow’s Wealth” on September 13 and 14.
This partnership comes within the framework of the comprehensive capacity building program presented within the activities of the International Government Communication Forum.
translation of this partnership; The Behavioral Insights Team will hold a series of activities over the two days of the forum, including introducing methodologies for understanding human behaviors and practices in the economic and social fields, especially the work environment, and how to formulate strategies and plans to develop human behavior in line with the requirements of growth, sustainability and progress, and the relationships of behavioral visions with the protection and sustainability of resources and their management starting with resources household and personal down to major industrial resources.
The training program will be led by Prof. David Halpern, CEO of the Behavioral Insights Team, Scott Durand, CEO of Accuro, Kristina Londakova, Principal Advisor to the Behavioral Insights Team, and Brady Murphy, Associate Consultant to the Behavioral Insights Team.
Through this partnership, the media office aims to employ behavioral insights in improving resource management and developing sustainable communication strategies, as well as highlighting the importance of understanding and analyzing human behavior in building effective and effective government communication.
The work of the Behavioral Insights team draws on a variety of disciplines such as psychology, economics, and other behavioral sciences, with the aim of applying this knowledge in achieving tangible improvements in public policies and decision-making.
The behavioral insights sessions will be a valuable opportunity for the participants to gain a deeper understanding of the foundations and concepts of behavioral insights and their application in the context of government communication and resource management.
The Behavioral Insights team has implemented more than 1,000 projects around the world, and more than 200 public authorities in different countries benefit from the team’s services and consultations.
The comprehensive capacity building program, which is organized within the activities of the International Government Communication Forum, constitutes a public and knowledge platform that aims to enhance capabilities and develop government work to keep pace with the latest developments.
The program includes various activities, including the “Artificial Intelligence Skills Camp” organized by the Artificial Intelligence Journalism Foundation for Research and Foresight, and the “Effective Communication in the Government Sector” program organized by the United Nations Institute for Training and Research “UNITAR”.
