“Sharjah Film Festival” for children and teenagers 2022 .. 20 films screened for the first time

The activities of the ninth session of the Sharjah International Film Festival for Children and Youth 2022 will see the premiere of more than 20 films in the UAE and the Gulf region.

The festival will be held October 10-15 at the Al Jawaher Convention and Events Center in Sharjah.

The festival’s activities, organized by the (Fan) Foundation, which is involved in promoting and supporting media art for children and young people in the UAE, include 16 films that are screened for the first time in the UAE and 6 films that are first shown in the Gulf region within its seven categories at two locations: the Jewel Center for Events and Conferences and the Citycenter Al Zahia in Sharjah.

The list of films screened for the first time in the UAE also includes 16 films, including the feature film “Neighbors” by Swiss-born Kurdish director Mano Khalil, which uses a sense of humor and irony in the film to tell a story of childhood in the era of dictatorship and to the extent that it increases friendship, love and solidarity.

From Germany, director Damaris Zielke presents the film “The most boring grandmother in the whole world” and director and screenwriter Mojtaba Saeed will present the film “Desolation”.

The films that are screened for the first time in the Gulf region include 6 films, including the short film “Sin’s Tears”, “Kadha” by Anis Al-Aswad and “Shiro” by Claudio Casal.

The activities of the ninth session of the “Sharjah International Film Festival for Children and Youth 2022” include the screening of 95 films and an expert group comes together to present 34 workshops that offer children and young people the opportunity to explore the media arts in the its various forms and learn about aspects of cinema.
