Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority and Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure Discuss Joint Cooperation for Sustainable Energy Development

The Chairman of the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority, Saeed Sultan Al Suwaidi, during his meeting, the day before yesterday, at the authority’s headquarters, with the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure for Energy and Petroleum Affairs, Engineer Sherif Al Olama, discussed a number of axes of activating joint cooperation to achieve sustainable development and develop energy projects to meet demand. Increasing growth, and facing the challenges and digital transformation of systems and procedures, to provide the best services to customers, develop transportation and distribution systems and networks, electrical interconnection between networks, and raise the efficiency of production units.

Al Suwaidi stressed that “the Authority is working to communicate and coordinate with all government agencies and specialized companies, to take all necessary measures to develop areas of work and provide services according to the best specifications to the residents of the Emirate of Sharjah, both citizens and residents.”

He explained that “the Authority is keen to cooperate and coordinate with the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure and all parties, and to use modern and advanced technologies to support the UAE Energy Strategy 2050, raise energy efficiency, meet needs, and reduce carbon emissions.”

He added, “The Ministry is considered one of the Authority’s strategic partners, and there is continuous coordination and exchange of experiences between the two sides,” praising the Ministry’s role, efforts, and keenness to activate continuous cooperation and coordination with its strategic partners, especially with the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority.
