The Sharjah Charitable Society implemented the “Zayed Humanitarian Day” initiative in Al Musalla Square in Sharjah, with the participation of more than 8,000 workers and families who came to participate in the initiative’s activities, which were organized by 300 volunteers.
The initiative was attended by Sheikh Saqr bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Association’s Board of Directors, Salem Ali Al Muhairi, Chairman of the Sharjah Municipal Council, Abdullah Sultan bin Khadim, Executive Director of the Association, and a number of the Association’s department directors.
Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi said: “On this day every year, which corresponds to the 19th of Ramadan, we celebrate the anniversary of Zayed Humanitarian Work Day, through which we remember the legacy of our father, the founder of the federation, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, “may God rest his soul,” whose effects we see in the fields. All, especially the most prominent of which are the values of giving that often attracted the attention of the late founder, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and this is the approach that the wise leadership followed after him until we reached the point where we harnessed charitable work to be a real actor in enabling people to rely on themselves.
Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi added that the initiative included several activities aimed at bringing joy and happiness to the hearts of the participants, as a group breakfast event was carried out for more than 8,000 workers in an atmosphere full of joy and happiness, in addition to a pavilion for free medical examinations, as well as public competitions that witnessed wide participation. The Chairman of the Board of Directors appreciated the good organization by the work teams and volunteers who carried out this work to bring out this initiative in a beautiful way that expresses the institutional work carried out by the association with the support of partners in the Sharjah City Municipality, Sharjah Police, Sharjah Radio and Television Authority, Sharjah Government Media Office, and NMC Medical Center. And everyone who participated in the success of this initiative.
