Sharjah Charitable Society Sponsors Over 28,000 Orphans Across 21 Countries with 41.2 Million Dirhams in Funding

The Sharjah Charitable Society announced that the number of its sponsored orphans reached 28,536 sponsored orphans in 21 countries during the past year, with financial allocations amounting to 41.2 million dirhams, bringing the number of sponsored persons included by the association in its records from 2010 until the end of 2023 to 360,251 sponsored persons.

This came in the report issued by the association, coinciding with Arab Orphan Day, which the Arab world celebrates on the first Friday of April every year.

Sheikh Saqr bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Society’s Board of Directors, said: “Islam pays attention to the orphan, and provides for his care with a great reward, and considers it one of the best deeds, because it compensates the orphan for his father’s kindness and tenderness, and because sponsoring an orphan involves a kind of reparation to break his thoughts of losing his father.” Rather, members of society must compensate orphans for the kindness of their parents.”

He added: “In conjunction with Arab Orphan Day, the Sharjah Charitable Society confirms the continuation of the care and support it provided to its sponsors after they lost parental kindness, and in accordance with the upright approach called for by Islamic law, which exalted the status of the sponsors and made their reward with their Lord accompanying His Prophet in Paradise,” pointing out. The sponsorship project is subject to a precise mechanism, aiming to provide integrated care to the sponsored, with the aim of providing aid and support to them, which contributes to their self-reliance.

He stated that the sponsorship department in the association follows up on the various details related to these tasks, as it specializes in providing assistance and support to all groups in need, with the aim of caring for and rehabilitating them, emphasizing the basic values ​​​​in the association, such as sincerity, humility, respect, diligence, dedication, justice, equality, empathy, quality, accuracy, transparency, and maintaining related secrets. With those in need.
