Sharjah Airport Air Cargo Center Prepares for Handling Horse Shipments

Sharjah, 1st October / WAM / The air cargo center at Sharjah Airport has completed its preparations to handle shipments of horses, as part of the efforts made by the Sharjah International Airport Authority, which aims to enhance efficiency in air cargo operations, especially with regard to handling shipments that require special attention.

This step comes in response to the special requirements for handling this type of shipment and providing all requirements to facilitate the procedures of the chauffeurs accompanying them, coinciding with the beginning of the season of local and international horse and equestrian festivals and races, whether for shipments of horses heading within the country or abroad.

The air cargo center at Sharjah Airport provides distinguished facilities and innovative logistical solutions to facilitate the procedures for handling purebred horses through the airport, as it includes a designated stall for horses in a location that ensures the smooth and easy arrival of these horses with their companions.

The paddock has been equipped with floors designated to suit the movement of horses (Astroturf). Sharjah Aviation Services (SAS) also provides these services through a specialized team as it is the ground services provider at Sharjah Airport and holds the Ground Services Safety Accreditation Certificate (ISAGO) for its commitment to the highest standards of safety and security in All goods handling sector.
