Dr. Khalifa Musabah Al Tunaiji, Head of Agriculture and Livestock Department, in the presence of Dr. Muhadtha Al Hashemi, Chairman of Sharjah Private Education Authority, discussed with the Bristol Veterinary College delegation the frameworks for cooperation in a range of research activities and scientific fields related to food technology, veterinary medicine and livestock development.
The head of the department discussed with Dr Tim Barkin, Dean of the Veterinary College and professor of epidemiology, and Dr Warwick, professor of zoology at the University of Bristol, the efforts and plans made by the Government of Sharjah under the directives of his Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, aimed at developing animal resources and enhancing its contribution to the food security system, as well as exchanging experience in veterinary science, in in in line with the strategic vision of the Emirate of Sharjah.
Al-Tunaiji said: Over the past few weeks, we have discussed with a number of specialists and academic institutions a number of issues relating to the agricultural and veterinary research sector and to strengthening partnerships in support of scientific research and development in the implementation of methodologies and scientific and applied research studies that support the objectives of agricultural and animal sustainability in Sharjah.
He added: Scientific cooperation with specialized institutions increases promising opportunities in the implementation of initiatives to provide a suitable and stimulating climate for the agricultural sector and livestock production, which allows translating the issue into economic opportunities that contribute to improving food security .
