And the arbitration expert for “The New Arab”, Jamal Al-Sharif, revealed his opinion in this case, saying: “There is a hand touch, but it is not considered a violation, because when the ball was in Gavi’s possession, David Alaba made a slip in an attempt to compete for the ball.”
And he continued: “Gavi reversed the ball backwards, which led to it colliding with the right hand of Real Madrid defender David Alaba, which lies between the body and the ground, and this hand is supportive and not held accountable by law, and therefore the referee’s decision was correct to continue playing without counting a violation.”
