The Brabant derby in the packed and atmospheric Koning Willem II Stadium was won by the home team on Saturday afternoon: Ché Nunnely became the match winner thanks to the blundering goalkeeper Joël Drommel.
Both Brabant clubs kicked off as numbers three and two in the Netherlands. PSV had something to make up for after the heavy home defeat against Feyenoord and the narrow victory at Go Ahead Eagles and immediately looked for the attack. Eran Zahavi got an imposed chance at 0-1 after a measured cross from the returned Ibrahim Sangaré, but headed into the hands of Timon Wellenreuther.

After the break, PSV resumed its offensive and the 1-2 seemed to be only a matter of time. Marco van Ginkel seemed to make it after an hour of play, but his header was cleverly stopped on the line by Wellenreuther. Not long after, Max appeared close to sixteen, but his placed bet went half a meter wide. The Eindhoven storm then abated and in the final phase it was actually Willem II that took the lead. Nunnely struck from a distance and Drommel let the ball slip clumsily through his gloves: 2-1.
PSV woke up with a start and had to find their way forward again. Maximiliano Romero was able to make Eredivisie minutes again after an absence of one year and immediately appeared free for Wellenreuther, but the German goalie kept Willem II going. Fred Grim’s team has been unbeaten for six games and has taken sixteen points in the first seven Eredivisie matches. PSV remains at fifteen out of seven and now has to wait and see whether Ajax can run against FC Groningen later on Saturday.
