Your own position is a critical date: if you can read it regularly, you always know where you are. And even where they are not, for example at home. Some harm can be done with the information. If you want to meet up with friends, it is useful to share the information. We’ll show you how to do it on Facebook!
You usually have your smartphone with the Facebook app with you. It’s probably no different with your friends. To set whether and who can see your position, tap in the Facebook app ideas, then on that gear and up Friends nearby.
If the function is already activated and you want to switch off position sharing in general, then click at the bottom Deactivate “Friends nearby”.
Under Share with… you can choose whether you want to share your position with all friends, only certain friends or all friends except a list of excluded people. So you can maintain a blacklist as well as a whitelist.
We recommend that you only activate the function when you need it, and then only with the special friends with whom you want to use it. The more broadly you share your position, the more likely it is to be accessed by someone you may not want to be at the moment!
