Sharad Pawar’s Stance on Ajit Pawar’s Split and NCP Unity in Maharashtra

Mumbai: Party president Sharad Pawar did not reject Ajit Pawar, who split the NCP and joined the BJP camp and became the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra.

Sharad Pawar said NCP is not split and Ajith is still our leader. No arguments with Ajith.

Taking different positions cannot be seen as divisive. They can do so in a democratic system. Ajith is the leader himself. There is no dispute about that. How a party splits. There is no split in the NCP. A split occurs when there is a separation at the national level. However, there is no such situation in NCP at present. Some take a different stance. But Pawar said that it will not be divided.

The Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance had expressed displeasure over Pawar’s talks with the rebel faction after the split. The “India” front has also expressed displeasure with Pawar’s remarks. Pawar had said the other day that some leaders of the party joined the Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde)-BJP alliance to avoid the ED investigation.
