Sharad Pawar questions credibility of Hindenburg report on Adani, dismissing demand for JPC as Supreme Court has formed a committee. BJP claims Congress allies disown Rahul Gandhi’s “demented ideas”.

Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar has questioned the credibility of Hindenburg Research’s report on Adani, stating that it appears to be targeted. This comes as the opposition seeks a joint parliamentary committee probe into the alleged Adani scam. Pawar also said that the demand for a JPC is irrelevant after the Supreme Court announced a committee to investigate the Adani issue. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) commented that as Congress allies disown Rahul Gandhi’s ‘demented ideas, one at a time’ it seems that the Congress allies are distancing themselves from Gandhi’s comment that he is not Savarkar. Pawar had earlier advised the Congress to tone down its attacks on Savarkar. Meanwhile, Ajit Pawar, Sharad Pawar’s nephew and leader of opposition in Maharashtra, questioned the controversy over Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s educational qualifications, stating that it was not an important issue compared to inflation and unemployment.
