“I am not afraid of death, I know where I am going and the people I will see again. I think I would be afraid of death if I wasn’t a good person, but I am. And I don’t want to die. This is the difference: I’m not afraid of dying, but I don’t want to… My life isn’t over, I haven’t finished loving, creating, wanting to change things for the better. My best memories are yet to come.”
Shannen Doherty, 52 years old, star of “Beverly Hills 90210” and “Charmed” has always shared her battle with breast cancer on social media, which she was diagnosed with in 2015. And now, interviewed by ” People”, says that the disease is progressing. Â «The breast cancer has reached the fourth stage and has spread to the bones – she says in the interview, also published on Instagram – But I am on a treatment regime that is going well for me. In January, the actress also underwent removal of a brain tumor and she had to undergo radiation therapy. “It was one of the scariest experiences she’s ever had,” she explained.
Doherty is about to launch her podcast «Let’s Be Clear with Shannen Doherty» in which she promises a series of «brutally honest» conversations with former colleagues, friends, family, even doctors with whom she is dealing with the disease. “People don’t know much about cancer, they make assumptions, they think it means you can’t walk, eat or work. They put us into retirement before our time, but that’s not the case. We are lively people, we have such a different outlook on life, we are so grateful for every second, for every day that we are here.”
In the journey against the disease, the actress is helped by faith: «I wake up and go to bed thanking God, praying for the things that matter to me without asking too much. It connects me to a higher power and spirituality. My faith is my mantra.”
