Canadian singer Shania Twain said she was praying for Celine Dion, who suffers from stiff-man syndrome, a rare neurological condition that also affects her voice.
“I’m such an admirer of Celine’s voice. She is a unique and extraordinary singer and artist,” said Shania Twain in an interview with the magazine. Billboard.
“I hope to get in touch with her at some point. I think it must be so hard, and I know – speaking only from my experience – how awful it is to think that something is stopping you from singing or interfering with that joy in your life. So I pray that she’s able to overcome it and be up there [sur scène] singing again for all of us,” she added.
Recall that Celine Dion announced that she had health problems last December. The singer recounted having uncontrolled muscle spasms affecting her ability to sing. His spring 2023 concerts were postponed to 2024 as eight of his summer shows were canceled.
“Unfortunately, these spasms affect all aspects of my daily life. It sometimes causes me difficulty when I walk and does not allow me to use my vocal cords to sing like I am used to. I have to admit it was a struggle. All I know how to do is sing – that’s what I’ve done all my life,” Celine Dion said in her post announcing her illness.
Shania Twain experienced something similar as she struggled with her voice while recovering from Lyme disease. After contracting the disease in 2003, she suffered from dysphonia, a vocal cord disorder that required multiple surgeries.
