The “Best in the World” officially returns to Raw, and no: it’s not CM Punk. WWE has indeed announced in a surprise tweet that on this Monday night’s show we will see Shane McMahon in action, once again operating in the company’s storylines after the last “layoff” last fall.
WWE has not wanted for the moment to anticipate what will be the role of the firstborn son of Vince McMahon, simply announcing his presence and indeed trying to tickle the curiosity of the fans by asking himself “What will he have in store?”:

Recall that Shane McMahon had returned to popular acclaim in WWE in 2016, welcomed by an ovation from the public reserved only to the all-time darlings of wrestling lovers. During the same year he had been forced by his father to fight WrestleMania against Undertaker (against the will of the latter too), but despite the defeat he was entrusted with the role of Commissioner of SmackDown on the occasion of the new split brand that happened just that year.
The parable of Shane McMahon in WWE from return to layoff
After a long period as a “good manager” and prophet of SmackDown as “land of opportunities”, Shane McMahon was therefore forced by circumstances to take the place of The Miz in the World Cup held in Saudi Arabia, giving rise to a progressive turn heel and his transformation into the hateful “Best in the World” thirsting for glory to the detriment of his own fighters.
That phase culminated in the feud with Kevin Owens, who beating him in the very first episode of SmackDown held on Fox’s American channels gave WWE the opportunity to expel Shane from his programs, to give more space to the full-time wrestlers on the blue roster.
In the meantime, a new reverse, which this time will materialize in Raw. And after the recent return to the cameras of her sister Stephanie, all that remains is to wonder what role Shane McMahon will play this time. Especially since his ancient, eternal rival Kevin Owens has meanwhile returned to Raw …
