Malappuram: The body of Shanavas Naranipuzha, the director of the hit film ‘Sufi and Sujatha’ was buried. Shanavas is the native land of Naranipuzha Malappuram He was buried at Naranipuzha cemetery in Ponnani at 12 noon today. Shanavas’ body was brought to his home in Ponnani from a private hospital in Kochi in the morning. Locals and filmmakers had come to his house in Ponnani early in the morning to see his body.
The body was buried at 12 noon after a public viewing of the home. A few days back, director Shanavas Naranipuzha was admitted to a private hospital in Coimbatore after suffering a heart attack at the shooting location. He was shifted to a ventilator due to poor health. He was rushed to a private hospital in Kochi by ambulance in a few hours from Coimbatore with the help of a ventilator. Meanwhile, death occurred. Shanavas has directed Kari, Sufi and Sujatha, which have been screened at various international film festivals.
