Shameful Samuel L. Jackson confesses to Marvel employer

Actor Samuel L. Jackson owes his bank balance in the last ten years to his recurring role of Nick Fury, pretty much the face of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

However, on the ‘Happy Sad Confused’ podcast, Jackson laughs to admit that he has been and remains much more of a DC fan all his life and has never actually opened a Marvel comic book:

“Well I mean, we’re all actors, mercenaries. I don’t know if I’m ever going to read a DC script that makes me say ‘Yeah, this is dope!’ I’m a DC comic book fan, so I’ve always read their comics.”

“And to be honest, I don’t even read Marvel comics. I kind of watch it and when I was cast as Fury, I looked at the cover and thought, ‘What am I doing here?’ And that was it and then I put it back.”

Lots of Nick Fury in the coming time
Jackson has been part of the MCU since its inception in 2008 with the release of Iron Man† Since then he has appeared in 11 titles (most recently in Spider-Man: Far From Home) and is expected to reappear in The Marvels on Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania.
