The 34th round of the Premier League was held this evening (Thursday) with the Liverpool city derby in focus in which Everton beat Liverpool 0:2 and apparently destroyed their championship dreams. Manchester United beat Sheffield United last in the table 2:4, after coming back twice on the way to a crazy turnaround. In addition, Crystal Palace beat Newcastle 2-0 thanks to a brace from Jean-Philippe Mattea to record a third consecutive win under Oliver Glasner, while Bournemouth beat Wolves 0-1 in a hard-fought game.
Everton – Liverpool 0:2
A fatal blow to Jurgen Klopp’s team in the championship race. The guest succumbed to the Toffees with goals from Jared Burnthwaite who took advantage of a defensive error in the 27th minute, and Dominic Calvert Lewin who powerfully struck in from a corner kick in the 58th minute. In doing so, the Reds remain three points behind Arsenal, and are one point above Manchester City, who have two games in hand.
In order to get back into the picture in the championship race, Klopp’s team will need two stumbles from each of their rivals in the little that remains until the end of the season. The Mighty Reds will host West Ham in the next round for a tough game and will hope to recover, while the Blues will hope to continue the positive momentum when they host Brentford.

What a great game we got at Old Trafford. The visitors, who may be officially relegated in the next round, took the lead twice with goals from Jayden Bogle and Brereton Diaz. The host showed character and came back twice en route to a crazy victory, Harry Maguire, Bruno Fernandes (double) and Rasmus Hoylund scoring for the much-maligned Eric Ten Brother’s side.
The Red Devils, who rose to sixth place at the expense of Newcastle, will host Vincent Kompany’s Burnley in the next round and hope to continue the winning streak, while the last in the table will be hosted by tough Newcastle and if they lose as mentioned, they will be officially relegated.
