47-year-old theater and film actress Chulpan Khamatova was one of those celebrities who left Russia after the February events. The founder of the Give Life Foundation, who previously supported the country’s authorities, has settled in Latvia, where she owns real estate. In an effort to integrate into the local society, Chulpan Nailevna actively learns the Latvian language and even tries to speak it from the stage. Meanwhile, music producer Sergei Lavrov in an interview with Channel Five reporters called such an act a “spit” in the direction of the country where she gained fame.
“Swear an oath in Latvian. Brad is complete. To be honest, I’m ashamed of her. He would still learn Chinese,” the producer throws up his hands.
According to him, Chulpan Khamatova and other celebrities who fled the country will never become their own in new countries. Even if they spend months learning a foreign language, their accent will still give them away. And the locals can smile in their faces, but then still pour mud behind their backs.
“You won’t learn a foreign language if you weren’t born in this country, if your mother and father don’t speak this language. When you speak with an accent, you will always be a stranger to them, ”Lavrov concluded.
However, artists still have some advantages over ordinary people: they can easily put on various masks (for example, a “respectable Latvian”), play roles unknown to them. However, Lavrov still doubts Khamatova’s success abroad. The producer is sure that the actress made a fatal mistake by leaving Russia.
