During corona, Sana was committed to clear and accessible information provision in vulnerable neighborhoods. Together with other healthcare providers, medical students and neighborhood parents, he also provided information about vaccines at Rotterdam markets and was committed to making information accessible and understandable.

Shakib Sana is happy to use his experience as a general practitioner and scientist for Pharos. “As a doctor, I experience many situations where the impact of health differences is clearly visible. I see it in my practice, but also during home visits. I have experienced first-hand the importance of good information provision.”
During corona, he and colleagues were at the forefront of creating accessible information and vaccination locations in the neighborhood. He also saw the impact of health differences at information meetings ofgezondheidkanker.nl and Vrijdagtelefoon.nl.
Sana: “We face major challenges to ensure that the health gap does not widen due to an increase in health differences and the threat of digital exclusion.”
Health disparities
