“A few days ago I received an email from a man, whose name and surname are also there, who asked me in total anonymity and privacy to spend a night with him in a well-known hotel in Milan, specifying that he could offer me a maximum of ten thousand euros”: this is how Shaila began on social media, continuing with some considerations: “I felt very humiliated from this request […] We women are not a bargaining chip, we are not listed on the stock exchange, no one deserves to be treated in this way, neither man nor woman. How dare you give me a value based on a cheap quote but we’re out of our minds? As far as I’m concerned, my value is priceless and it certainly isn’t based on how much money you offer me to be with you.”
The dancer explained that it was not the first indecent proposal received over the years: “I have had indecent proposals and I have always been down to earth […] What saddens me is that unfortunately as a woman I’m sorry that there are women who give in to these temptations to have a higher status, an extra Chanel […] Same thing for men who are reduced to making such requests. So I wonder without your status quo and without your facade who are you really? […] But what do you have inside? Where are the values? For me it’s abhorrent but people don’t just brush it aside because there are people who fight for their ideals.”
And he concluded: “To you who asked me this request, I say, take the money and use it as toilet paper since you have leftovers. But if I can give you some advice, take a flight and go take a nice trip to Africa so you understand who you really are and do some charity work“.
