After 20 years of its release, Shahrukh Khan’s film entered the 100 crore club
With Rs 1.8 crore on re-release, the lifetime collection of Shahrukh Khan film Veer Saara has crossed Rs 100 crore. Released in 2004, the film was re-released in February and September this year. Thus, the film has collected a total of 102.60 crores worldwide so far.
Due to the lack of new films in the theatres, the trend of re-released films is seen across the country. The 2004 film Veer Saara starring Shah Rukh Khan was re-released on 13 September. The film collected Rs 1.57 crore in seven days of its re-release, taking the film’s lifetime collection to Rs 100 crore worldwide. This is the original compilation of the 2004 movie.
Re-released in 282 screens, the film collected Rs 1.8 crore in one week. At the time of its release in 2004, the film managed to gross 98 crores worldwide. The film was re-released in February this year during the Valentine week. At that time the film had collected Rs 30 lakhs. Subsequently, when the film was released again in September, the film managed to earn Rs 1.8 crore. So the total worldwide collection of the film is Rs 102.60 crore.
Written and directed by Aditya Chopra, the film is produced by Aditya Chopra’s father Yash Chopra. Apart from Shahrukh Khan, Rani Mukerji and Preity Zinta played lead roles in the film. Movies like Rockstar, Laila Majnu and the recently released Tumbad are also released from Bollywood.
