Shadow and Bone is set to return for its second chapter later this month, and Netflix subscribers are eagerly awaiting another foray into Leigh Bargugo’s Grishaverse. During the second season premiere, actors Jessie Mei Li and Ben Barnes appeared to tease fans who are convinced they might be secretly dating.
Barnes and Li were spotted in a flirty video while on Shadow and Bone’s second season press tour.
In a clip posted to TikTok, the co-stars sit next to each other and giggle and smile together between interviews.
At the start of the video, Barnes cautiously reaches his little finger towards Li’s hands before they push him away and smiles cheekily at the camera.
Barnes then keeps a straight face as he leans back in his chair and nudges Li off the armrest as she struggles to suppress another smile.

The TikTok video zoomed in on the physical flirting, and Li wrinkled her nose while enduring her co-star’s antics.
The viewer of the video is obviously convinced that something is up, as he wrote “BEN PLEASE STOP” in the caption, along with crying emojis and love hearts.
TikTok user Dee replied, “Looks like Ben’s love language is physical touch.”
Charlotte commented, “Imagine someone being so attracted to you that they can’t physically stay away from you and they do everything to get close to you, even with their PINKY.”

So far, the rumors regarding the relationship between the two actors have not been confirmed.
Other fans have also pointed out that Li identifies as “openly queer,” although it’s unclear if she’s currently in a relationship.
In 2021, Li confirmed that she was dating a male partner whose identity is unknown, and it is unclear if the relationship is still ongoing.
Meanwhile, Barnes has reportedly been dating American dancer Julianne Hough since August 2022.
A source told Life and Style last year, “Their friendship has turned into a real romance.”
