Tuesday afternoon he wrote The online newspaper on Islam Net leader Fahad Qureshi, who in a closed Facebook group, just days after Rehman’s death, he wrote that it should be “a reminder” and that “not all the dead should be respected.”
In the post, Qureshi listed a number of Rehman’s actions, describing how he had “mocked Allah” and that “one who devotes his whole life to fighting Islam is neither a Muslim nor a friend of Muslims.”

Strong reactions
Other Islam Net members also spoke derisively in the closed group’s comment section. This caused a strong reaction from several people.
– They write that this is “a reminder”. It’s extremely bad, Eivor Evenrud (Ap) told Nettavisenand added:
– They give the impression that they have moderated, certainly not.
Evenrud commented on the case on Monday evening on his Facebook profile.
– Inflicting shame, guilt and sin, means that can best be described as psychological violence, across the board. This well describes the cross pressure in which Shabana and other minority women remain. Even after her death, she must therefore be taken and be “a reminder”. She doesn’t lower. My skepticism that Islam Net will start a large youth activity center in Groruddalen has not weakened, to put it mildly, he wrote there.
FRP Immigration and Integration Policy Spokesman Erlend Wiborg also reacted:
– I just have a message for the Islamists in Norway who are now mocking the recently deceased Shabana Rehman. If you don’t accept freedom of speech and Norwegian values, you leave the country in an Islamist dream society, she wrote in a Facebook posts.

– I apologize
About an hour and a half after the case was first published on Tuesday afternoon, Qureshi wrote the following in a message to Nettavisen:
– I apologize for my criticism of the recently deceased Shabana Rehman. As a devout Muslim, I found it offensive and unfair that a critic of Islam who encouraged the burning of the Quran and who ridiculed my Prophet should be hailed as a folk hero.
Qureshi adds:
– In light of hindsight, I realize it was the wrong time to criticize Rehman and his actions, sadly it happened in the heat of the moment. Rehman was a man of strong and controversial means, but this is not the time for a debate on that.

– Out of respect for Rehman’s next of kin, I deleted the post, and I apologize that they may have been exposed to my words during the difficult time they are going through, he concludes.
