Hamburg – After the runner-up of the SG Hamburg-Nord in the Oberliga Hamburg/Schleswig-Holstein and the rise, since the champion TSV Hürup renounced, the adventure in the 3rd league is now on the program. For the coaching team Matthias Steinkamp and Stephan Stop, staying up in the league is the announced goal for the season. It is therefore necessary to reach at least place 10, since place 11 already harbors the risk of relegation. In preparation, it is now time to integrate the six newcomers so that the goal of the season can be achieved as early as possible. “With a few well-known newcomers, we were able to bring even more quality to the squad and compensate for the injury worries of the past season,” team manager Romy Lemke explained to HL-SPORTS about the adventure in the 3rd league. This means that the SG Hamburg-Nord has become the second power in Hamburg – behind the first division team Handball Sport Verein Hamburg.
Top-class newcomers should help to achieve the goal of the season
The two departures Dejan Cucic and Sören Sojka in the direction of HG Hamburg Barmbek are opposed to six newcomers. The four from HG Hamburg-Barmbek with Justin Rundt (goal), Jan Torben Ehlers, Marten Most (both backcourt) and Dominik Vogt (circle) already have higher-class experience from HSV Hamburg. Also from the HSVH U19, Niklas Aevermann (backcourt) joined the SG. With Friedrich Kilias, another U19 player from Füchsen Berlin completes the series of newcomers.

Go full throttle on the 3rd league mission
With a squad of 23 players, including four goalkeepers, the coaching team started preparing for the 3rd division, which is a big challenge for everyone involved. Now the motto is: big, no mess! The six newcomers have to be integrated into the existing squad so that the first league game on September 3rd at TuS Vinnhorst from 1956 can get off to a good start. Until then, there will still be a lot of sweat in the extensive training sessions. But friendly matches are also on the program, including our own tournament in August with TSV Hürup, TSV Ellerbek and VfL Fredenbeck. The highlight will certainly be the test match against the first division team Handball Sport Verein Hamburg in the Tegelsbarg Halle on August 19th and then the training camp in Buchholz on August 20th and 21st.
