SFL wants full stadiums from August | Soccer Super League

SUPER LEAGUE ⋅ Shortly after winning the YB title, Claudius Schfer, CEO of the Swiss Football League, looks to the future. The league calls for “full stadiums from August” for the next season.

The current situation with ghost games since the end of October is “untenable for the clubs”. The fact that the corona measures will be relaxed from Monday and 100 spectators are allowed in the stadiums will not help, said Schfer. “In a stadium like here in Bern with 30,000 seats, 100 spectators are nothing”, said the league CEO in an interview with the TV broadcaster “blue”.

Schfer expects that by the end of the month there will be signals from politicians about how things will go from summer and the new season. “The clubs need this planning security”, Schfer told “blue”.

Schfer draws hope from earlier statements by Health Minister Alain Berset. “The Federal Council has declared that the measures will no longer be applicable if everyone who wants to be vaccinated has been vaccinated.” This statement will be used to measure the Federal Council, said Schfer. And that’s why he called on “blue”: “We want full stadiums from August.” (sda)
