SFI Leader Surrenders in Suicide Case at Pookod Veterinary College: Latest Updates from Kalpatta

Kalpatta: The SFI leader surrendered in the incident of Siddharth, a student of Pookod Veterinary College, who was a victim of mob trial and beating, committed suicide. College union chairman Arun surrendered before the Kalpatta DYSP.

After Siddharth committed suicide, Arun went into hiding. With this, the number of people arrested in the incident has increased to eight. Meanwhile, a new investigation team was formed under the leadership of Wayanad SP. The team will include DySP Kalpatta and another DySP.

The police arrested the first accused in the Siddharth suicide case today. Senior student Palakkad, Pattambi, Amayur Kota at home K. Akhil (28) was caught by the special investigation team from his relative’s house in Palakkad while he was absconding.

Akhil is one of the 12 students suspended from the college. Police said that Akhil was among those who beat up Siddharth.

On February 18, BVSC second year student Siddharth (21) was found dead in the boys’ hostel of the Veterinary University. Six people were arrested in the incident last day.

10 people including SFI leaders involved in the case are to be arrested. DYSP TN said that lookout notices will be issued for other accused and action has been initiated. Sajevan informed.
