It is of course a difficult time for Sven Steinfort too. The 34 year old from Düsseldorf loves football. Since childhood he has spent a large part of his free time on and off the field, where he meets friends.
No wonder that the player-coach of the district league team SF Baumberg II (SFB) longs for rays of light: “The corona pandemic is the constant topic. A game operation cannot be considered. This also pushes football to the edge. ”In the middle of the dark season, Steinfort actually had a sense of achievement because he signed the goal scorer Jean Michele Röhrscheidt from the A-Kreisligiste GSV Langenfeld.
At least since the 2014/2015 season, the two-footed striker has been one of the big promises of the local scene. Finally, he played himself with 13 hits and 24 templates for the then A-Kreisligiste HSV Langenfeld in the scene. After a one-year stint at SG Benrath-Hassels II, Röhrscheidt continued at GSV Langenfeld, where he became an absolute top performer. “We are really happy about the transfer. Michele is a thoroughbred striker who knows exactly where the goal is. In addition, he fits in well with our team because he is simply a great person, ”praised Steinfort, who contacted the newcomer more than a year ago.
Röhrscheidt already demonstrated at the GSV that he is ready for higher tasks. The 28-year-old has a very strong finish with both feet, while he also hits repeatedly with his head. In the last 2019/2020 series, Röhrscheidt only needed 22 games to score 30 hits and prepare six more. According to Steinfort, Röhrscheidt had not dared to make the leap into a higher division so far because he was very limited due to professional obligations. After three and a half years with Langenfeldern, Röhrscheidt was looking for a new challenge – and Steinfort was able to convince him in the conversation.
So far, the attack has caused some concern for those responsible for Baumberger. With Stefan Laschewski, the SFB undoubtedly have a good executor who usually scored at least ten hits per season. Due to a persistent injury to the meniscus, the 37-year-old had to step backwards in the past. “Stefan is now in advanced training, in which he is slowly working up to his old level,” explains the player-coach. Amin Kumukov, who moved to Sandstrasse in the summer, helped out in the storm, but feels more at home on the outside. Leon Wieczorek and Chadrack Bengi are not trained strikers either.
When will Röhrscheidt first get in touch with his new teammates? So far there have only been contacts via digital media because gaming operations are still prohibited. With the help of a running app, the Baumbergers only check their current fitness level. In the dreary Corona break, the change from Röhrscheidt is a ray of hope for sports fans.
66 goals in 69 games for GSV Langenfeld
Jean Michele Röhrscheidt was born on November 2, 1992. The striker has both feet and has played 69 games in the district league A for GSV Langenfeld in four seasons, scoring 66 goals.
