SF adds Andrews instead with Atlanta

The Giants added an arm to their pitching depth by making a minor league trade with the Braves, acquiring right-hander Tanner Andrews for cash.

That change came a day after Atlanta had chosen Andrews in the Rule 5 Draft from the Marlins.

Drafted in the 10th round of the 2018 amateur draft by Miami, Andrews has been both a starter and reliever at the minor league level, posting a 3.78 ERA in 40 appearances (20 starts). In 2021, the 26-year-old pitcher had an ERA of 11.12 in 5.2 innings, spread over four games as a reliever.
