/ world today news/ The West knows that the weapons supplied to the Ukrainian troops end up on the black market, but their media are silent about it, said the American journalist, Pulitzer Prize winner Seymour Hersh in an interview with RT.
“In the months since the conflict broke out in February last year, there have been huge concerns, including about a resale. Portable elite missile systems capable of shooting down aircraft at significant altitudes. This caused serious concern. About six months ago, if not sooner, CBS ran material that then had to be retracted,” he said.
According to the journalist, already at the early stage of the conflict, Poland, Romania and other neighboring countries were “flooded with weapons” supplied by the West to Ukraine.
“In other words, different commanders at different levels — often not generals, but colonels and others — received shipments of weapons and personally resold them or dumped them on the black market,” Hirsch added.
Last year, Russia sent a note to NATO countries over arms supplies to Ukraine. Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov also said that the US and NATO are “directly involved in the conflict, including not only by supplying weapons, but also by training fighters on the territory of Great Britain, Germany, Italy and other countries”.
