Sexual Assaults in New York Exceed 322%

New York, USA.- Sexual assaults have increased by more than 322% in New York, a city that has already been in chaos since the beginning of the pandemic. With a total of 38 cases computed in just five weeks, New York has become one of the most unsafe cities in the United States.

Only between the dates of March 22 to 28 there were 36 sexual assaults, according to data from the New York City Police Department. Experts in the field have stated that one of the possible reasons for these attacks is due to the fact that more and more people are self-medicating and consuming a high level of narcotics, which has caused much emotional instability among citizens.

Sexual predators have taken it upon themselves to use the pandemic as an outlet to commit their crimes. In most cases, the attackers use masks and eye masks to avoid being recognized by law enforcement authorities.

In New York alone, 174 rapes were reported between January 1 and April 4. Tensions over the Coronavirus remain present and many unscrupulous use any situation to do evil around them, said the city’s Police Commissioner. What is more worrying is that according to unofficial data the number of people who do not report the attacks are more than those who do.
