Sexual Assault Suspect Sought in Park Slope, Brooklyn

A “wanted” sign can be seen on the poles in Park Slope, Brooklyn. This is a suspect of sexual assaults and rapes that the New York Police are working to capture.

Our reporter Rolman Vergara, from Univision 41, went to the neighborhood to speak with neighbors, who allege that four serious crimes have occurred in less than a month. Likewise, they warn that in the sector there is a daycare center and three schools.

The most recent of the crimes was a sexual abuse that the suspect committed on a 27-year-old woman.

Last Wednesday, around 10:00 p.m., the victim was walking in front of 55 St. John’s Place when the individual attacked her from behind and sexually abused her.

According to the NYPD, the suspect fled down the same street, heading east. In the image shared by the authorities, he is wearing a black sweatshirt with a logo that says “no more”, dark pants and black sneakers with white soles. She has a light complexion and black hair.

They denounce darkness and lack of patrols in Park Slope

Ayana Mohammed, Park Slope housing administrator, told Univision 41 that darkness in the sector favors crime. She noted that an unlit pole has been marked since September 19 for repair, but it’s been almost a month.

He also denounced the lack of patrolling, but the authorities told him that they would do everything possible.

“I don’t feel good about those things, you have to be very careful with the children,” said Andrea Acosta, one of the neighbors.

For her part, Verónica Cepeda said: “I tell my children to always be close to me and to look behind them, to the sides, if they see someone nearby and to run.”

Ayana Mohammed reported that a neighbor, in front of the place where the rape occurred, had his scooter stolen. They took a piece of another’s car and a fourth person was the victim of an assault. All in less than a month.
