Sexual assault on a minor, 22-year-old arrested in Bari

(ANSA) – BARI, OCTOBER 19 – The State Police has arrested and taken to prison in Bari a 22-year-old accused of sexual assault against a 16-year-old. The violence apparently occurred on the evening of 6 July 2023 in the Ceglie del Campo district, on the outskirts of Bari. According to what was reconstructed by the investigators, that evening the girl was taken by her ex-boyfriend (also a minor) and by the 22-year-old arrested today in an abandoned farmhouse of the neighborhood. Once there, the minor walked away and the other young man forced the girl “with violence and threats” to have sexual intercourse with him, causing injuries judged to be healable in 10 days. The investigations began after a complaint lodged by the victim’s parents, who had learned of the incident from the parents of a friend of their daughter, to whom the young woman had told the story. The 22-year-old taken to prison today already has a criminal record and was under house arrest – with an electronic device – for a robbery committed also in the neighborhood in 2023, during which he injured the victim with a gunshot.
