A 48-year-old cheerleader who allegedly had a “relationship” with a minor for many years saw his case grow with a string of new charges for sexual and violent crimes against six other alleged victims.

Yan Lecompte, a resident of Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, was handcuffed for a second time by the Sûreté du Québec. He appeared in court Wednesday afternoon to face 26 new charges relating to various violent and sexual crimes.

Sexual assault, sexual contact, indecent communication, luring, harassment: Lecompte would have had a total of six new victims, most of them minors. The others are young adults, according to our information.
Yan Lecompte is said to have committed assault against one of them. The forty-year-old is also accused of having harassed a woman whom he allegedly sexually assaulted. He also faces a charge of making death threats and several counts of producing child pornography.
It would have acted over a period of around fifteen years, between 2009 and 2023, in several cities such as Montreal, Maricourt, Beauharnois and Salaberry-de-Valleyfield.
“In a relationship” with a teenager
Yan Lecompte’s professional activities revolved around young people before his first arrest last spring. In April, he was charged with 21 counts of numerous sex crimes against a minor victim. She was just 12 years old when the abuse allegedly began.

According to our sources, Lecompte lived a double life with the teenager, making her believe that they were a couple “in secret”.
Already, his legal troubles had caused a shock in his community since he is rather well-known in the region, particularly in the world of youth sports.
He was the main administrator of the CampiAgile gymnastics club, the most important school in the sector in this discipline. The non-profit organization regularly receives private and public financial assistance.
The organization had confirmed to Journal having suspended him from his functions as president of the board of directors in addition to having informed him that he would no longer be welcome as an athlete.
Very involved with young people
The alleged sexual attacker was also an instructor at the Pro Conduite school in Valleyfield. He regularly met teenagers who wanted to obtain their driving license. The company also confirmed that it had fired him last April.
He was also involved in other sporting organizations, notably hockey.
Yan Lecompte was released after his first appearance at court. This time, the prosecution opposed his release from prison during the legal proceedings, said Crown prosecutor Kim Emond.
Several conditions were imposed on him, including that of not contacting the alleged victims. His case returns to court next Monday.
