According to our sources, Lecompte lived a double life with the teenager, making her believe that they were a couple “in secret”.

Already, his legal troubles had caused a shock in his community since he is rather well-known in the region, particularly in the world of youth sports.

He was the main administrator of the CampiAgile gymnastics club, the most important school in the sector in this discipline. The non-profit organization regularly receives private and public financial assistance.

The organization had confirmed to Journal having suspended him from his functions as president of the board of directors in addition to having informed him that he would no longer be welcome as an athlete.

Very involved with young people

The alleged sexual attacker was also an instructor at the Pro Conduite school in Valleyfield. He regularly met teenagers who wanted to obtain their driving license. The company also confirmed that it had fired him last April.

He was also involved in other sporting organizations, notably hockey.

Yan Lecompte was released after his first appearance at court. This time, the prosecution opposed his release from prison during the legal proceedings, said Crown prosecutor Kim Emond.
