The woman who charged Bob Dylan last year for sexual abuse that allegedly took place in 1965 has withdrawn her charges. That happened shortly after the singer’s lawyers accused her of destroying evidence.
The woman sued the artist in August 2021 because she would have been drugged by him at the age of twelve. Subsequently, the singer would have mistreated and abused her. A spokesperson for Dylan immediately denied the abuse.
On Wednesday, lawyers for the 81-year-old singer announced that the plaintiff had deleted important text messages. A day later, it became clear that the woman had withdrawn the charges.
A Dylan spokesman said he was pleased that “this sham” is over and emphasized that it is “outrageous that this case was brought at all”.
