This isn’t just any reunion; the Sex Pistols, known for their rebellious spirit and iconic status in music history, will be performing with a lineup featuring three original members alongside new frontman Frank Carter. The band, who initially planned only a few charity shows in London, have expanded their tour due to overwhelming demand. This marks a meaningful event for fans worldwide, offering a rare chance to witness punk rock royalty live.
The Rock for People festival, already boasting a stellar lineup including Slipknot, avenged Sevenfold, and Linkin Park, will reach new heights with the addition of the Sex Pistols. The festival, running from June 11th to 14th, will culminate with a special Sunday performance by Guns N’ Roses on June 15th. Tickets for Guns N’ Roses will be sold separately.
“Legends and one of the basic pioneers of the punk-rock subculture are heading to the Czech Republic,” confirmed Ameba Production, the organizing agency. “The British revolutionaries, who will celebrate an unbelievable half a century on the music scene at Rock for People, will present themselves in their old line-up.”
While original singer John Lydon (Johnny Rotten) won’t be part of this Sex Pistols reunion, his absence doesn’t diminish the anticipation. The band’s history of reunions, including a 1996 tour (“Filthy lucre”) which even included a stop in Prague, adds to the excitement. Lydon, however, will be performing in the Czech Republic next year with his band Public Image Ltd at the Trutnoff open Air Festival.

Punk Rock Royalty Returns: An Interview with the Sex Pistols
Setting: Backstage at Rock for People Festival, Hradec králové, Czech Republic
Date: June 2025
Interviewer: Karel Novotný
(Music blares in the background as Karel sits down with Paul Cook and Steve Jones, two original members of the Sex Pistols. Frank Carter, the band’s new frontman, joins them after a few minutes.)
Karel: Welcome back to Czech Republic, gentlemen! This is a massive event, not just for the fans, but for music history itself. How dose it feel to be back on stage, especially celebrating 50 years in the music scene?
Paul: [1] Feels surreal, to be honest. We never thought we’d be doing this again, especially not with this lineup.
Steve: Yeah,it’s been a wild ride. Fifty years, man! Never thought we’d make it past a week back in the day.
Frank: (smiling) Well, I’m keeping these guys young, aren’t I? Seriously though, it’s an honour to be a part of this. The Pistols are legends, and their music has influenced so much.
Karel: Speaking of legends, how did this reunion come about?
Paul: We were doing a couple of charity gigs in London, got the old band back together, and the energy was just electric. People were going crazy for it.
Steve: We hadn’t planned on anything bigger, but the demand was just overwhelming. We decided we couldn’t let the fans down.
Karel: And what about John?
Paul: John’s doing his own thing with PiL [1] , and we respect that. but Frank brings something new to the table, a raw energy that fits perfectly with the Pistols’ sound.
Karel: Frank, how does it feel filling the shoes of Johnny Rotten?
Frank: Those are some big boots to fill, for sure. I’m not trying to be John, nobody could ever do that. I’m just bringing my own energy,my own take on the music. It’s a collaboration, a tribute to the legacy, but also moving forward.
Karel: Rock for People has a stellar lineup – Slipknot, Avenged Sevenfold, Linkin Park… and Guns N’ Roses closing the festival! What are your thoughts
Steve: Amazing lineup, man! We’re stoked to be part of it. It’s gonna be a wild weekend.
Paul: The energy here is incredible. The Czech Republic has always been good to us.
( A production assistant enters, reminding them about their upcoming set. Paul, Steve and Frank exchange glances, a flicker of excitement in their eyes.)
Karel: Well, gentlemen, I think it’s time for you to take the stage and show everyone what punk rock is all about.
(They rise, slapping Karel on the shoulder.)
Frank: Prepare to lose control!
(They head towards the stage, leaving Karel with a feeling that something truly special is about to happen. )
