Trash fires, vehicle fires, makeshift barricades placed across the road to prevent the progress of the police, throwing various projectiles at them… The evening did not remain calm for long. New urban violence punctuated the night from Sunday to Monday, in the city of Beaudottes, in Sevran (Seine-Saint-Denis).
The clashes spilled over into the neighboring town of Aulnay-sous-Bois. A Transdev bus was stolen by around fifty young people, some armed with iron bars, who forced the driver to get off, then set the vehicle ablaze a few streets away, according to our information. Individuals also set fire to a truck. A construction machine was also burned in Tremblay-en-France.
Firefighters had to put out the fires. The security forces responded to these various provocations with tear gas canisters. “Groups of young people from different neighborhoods formed during the night,” said a police source on Monday morning.
Gérald Darmanin evokes this Tuesday morning 13 arrests Monday evening which are added to 16 others of the weekend.
